This
section of trail consists of the West Fairlee Historical Walk, created
by the RTA summer trail crew in 2003. Copies of the walk are
available in Bean Hall; ask for the 2004 Staying Connected Rivendell
Community Resource Guide. The walk is a total of 1.4 miles
round-trip.
Park
at Bean Hall, located on Route 113 in West Fairlee, and walk
south on Main St./Rt. 113. Turn left at the Westshire Elementary
School, left around the back of the school and follow the path across
the school fields and then behind homes and gardens. The path is
lined with granite pillars behind the homes. Turn right onto
Robinson Road. At the bridge, look to your right for the remains
of a sawmill. Continue up Robinson Road; it eventually turns to
dirt. From here, climb the dirt road to Southworth Park where the
trail turns right into the woods. Southworth Park is a great
place for a picnic! |
