National
Trails Day
Sally Tomlinson Appreciation Day
Saturday, 6 June 2009
Each
year RTA celebrates National
Trails Day with a reception and a
variety of morning hikes for all ages and abilities.
This year the RTA wil celebratre "Sally
Tomlinson Appreciation Day" in Orford, NH.
Sally had the concept for the Cross
Rivendell Trail in 1998 and has served on the Trails
board ever since. She has put countless hours into
the trail and has been an inspiration to us all. She
is stepping down from the RTA Board, and we want to
thank her.
Our event starts at 8:30am at Rivendell Academy
(upper field) with light breakfast, followed by a
ceremony at 9:00am. We then offer two options.
1) To cut and blaze a roughly 1/2 mile
NEW section of trail in Orford and 2) a hike on Sunday
Mountain (~ 4 miles roundtrip).
Your
RSVP to Andy Boyce, Trails Coordinator (aboyce@rivendellschool.org)
will help us plan. Lunch provided for trail workers,
snacks for hikers. All parts of the event are free,
donations accepted.
